December 31 Full Moon, partial lunar Eclipse in Cancer

December 31st hosts a Cancer Full moon with a partial Lunar eclipse at 10*15. If there is an eclipse involved something has got to give– and that something would be your story. ie– the reasons you give yourself for staying in a wounded cycle that isolates you from your spiritual duty on Earth and building meaningful relationships. If you have a vision around what kind of connections you would like to build, hold on to it. You are being cleansed to experience what you would like.
This Full moon will be intense. It will bring to mind all the times family let you down. All the times you were hurt as a child. But your choice is to either to hold on to that story as an adult and keep replaying it or to let it go. It`s time for us to begin building communities that support our dharmic purpose. When things happen to us as children we don`t always know everything involved. We don`t always have access to history and truth. We just know what we see. So I ask you are you going to continue to hold on to a partial story that has morphed and become larger over time or let it go and get to work? As much as you may be in pain– it isn`t all about you. And holding on to a mistaken perception of yourself and others is not helping you or anyone else.

The Moon in sentimental Cancer opposing the Sun in businesslike Capricorn puts security and safety issues on the front burner. Shedding tears about losses, though, may only perpetuate the pain since this event is a partial eclipse of the Cancer Moon, urging us to let go of the past. It's a signal to toughen up and turn feelings of uncertainty into acts of commitment. We're building the future now, leaving less room to ruminate about missed opportunities and lost relationships. Take a moment to remember old wounds, if you must, and then move forward with discipline and focus.

If you feel beyond this and like you are expressing and doing with integrity with all your might– I ask you to keep tuned in and make sure that you stay aligned. Many folks are being given more and larger assignments as energetically heavy hitters (i.e. people who manifest healing ashes and levitate) continue to pass on. Someone has to pick up the slack; that someone maybe you . Since Mercury is retrograde right now I suggest you take a deep breath and be open to what you need to be into

The Sabian Symbol for 11* Cancer is: A clown is making merry, gently caricaturing all manners of human traits with his grimaces and pantomime.

This symbol speak of learning to laugh first at our own absurdities and then recognizing that all people have their own leads to the understanding that despite traditions, no one person really is better than another.

The Sabian Symbol for 11* Capricorn is: In a quiet and landscaped portion of a vast private estate a group of pheasants display their brilliant colors.

This symbol speaks that there is beauty to be found everywhere if we have the eyes to see it, not just tucked away for a privileged few

Hang in there. Since Mars and Mercury will both be retrograde by the Cancer Full Moon– my suggestion is to spend New Years Eve in company that aligns with your highest and best or in restful contemplation. Again winter is not the best time to have a crazy schedule jam packed with obligations and boozing; that is what summer is for! Winter is a time to choose which seeds to plant in Spring so you can enjoy summer. Life is not a contest or a race– it`s a journey. And we all begin and end at the same place. No need to hurry or push. Believe it or not, time is on your side
This Full Moon illuminates: deep emotional needs; unconscious behaviors; homesickness; longing for a family and children; the protected home sanctuary; national identity (tribe, kinship, ancestry); family legacies.

It's a Good Time to:

• Be with the muse, and receive impressions from the imagination.
• Acknowledge your vulnerabilities.
• Nurture and allow yourself to be nurtured.
• Protect the frail, young or helpless.
• Give shelter to an animal or neighbor from the storm.
• Tune in to your ancestors.
• Make something artful from your memories.
• Indulge your sentimental side.
• Reach out to an old friend.
• Be near the ocean.

December 23 to January 19

The Sun glowed in Capricorn, the Sea-Goat a femenine sign on your birthday. The Sun in astrology stands for our inner nature, revealing the mark of our true character. The tenth sign of the Zodiac,, Capricorn is ruled by powerful Saturn, the planet of structure and responsibility, but it is the exaltation of Mars, the planet of action and desire! A cardinal (creative and original) sign, Capricorn governs public life and organisation, combined with personal ambition and will to succeed. An earth sign, Capricorn is a loyal associate and faithful friend – although the Goat can be quite possessive and even rather jealous.

The animal symbol for Capricorn, a mountain goat, is a fitting symbol for a sign known for achievement. That goat always seems to be headed for the top of the mountain! Just like this ambitious animal, each year during the Sun’s transit through Capricorn, it's time for you to aim high and use the practicality and initiative of this earth sign. Focus on your goals and take steps toward their fulfillment. You can do it!

Every sign has a 'patron planet.' Yours, dear Capricorn, happens to be Saturn -- Mr. No-Nonsense himself -- and this is a great place to start explaining the nature of your sign. You've also been given a love of structure, a respect for experience and a great big dose of common sense. You only take calculated risks, and you can be the very soul of caution. In fact, if you're not careful, you can end up a bit too pessimistic.

You deal with relationships much the same way you handle shopping. Your first step is to see what's out there by doing some observation and comparison. You won't settle for anything less than exactly what you want. And once you have it, you tend to those you love in much the same way you treat your most treasured items: You spoil them, pamper them and do absolutely everything you can to make things last. The lucky person who ends up in a permanent relationship with you can rest assured there's nothing you won't do to keep that relationship thriving, especially as the years go by and you invest more and more time into each other.

Saturn, the lord of karma and emblem of structure, is strong. Tenacious, logical, and endowed with the capacity to work hard and long, you rarely hesitate to grasp opportunities for advancement or promotion. You are quite well-grounded, especially later in life (over 40), once you have learnt to overcome those early insecurities. More ambitious than you appear on the surface and a natural executive or manager, you set out to accomplish and are determined to succeed one way or another. Pragmatic and goal-oriented, you soon learn how to get things done, for you aspire to positions of power and authority and admire others who attain such positions.

Keys to Success

Initiative and willingness to accept responsibilities are keys to your success, but a false pride makes it hard for you to admit when you are wrong, or to ask others for help. Though you compete aggressively for what you want, you harbour an inner lack of confidence which can make you defensive. Viewing insecurity and fear as weakness, you attempt to hide such feelings, making it hard for others to get close to you.

Hard-nosed Capricorn reacts by assessing the possible worth of any given situation. The goat is a sure-footed, methodical climber. You are heading for the top of the rock, so you'll gladly work long and hard if it means getting what (or who) you want. The energy and randiness of the goat is proverbial, but you can be very lazy if you see no sense in working or if you can achieve the same high goals in a less strenuous manner.

Structure and Reality

Your sense of humour is generally impeccable, although you fail to see the point of personal jokes at your expense. You hold grudges and will take revenge for perceived slights. The ancient emblem of Capricorn was the sea-goat, half goat and half fish. This symbolised the death of the lower mind and the birth of the spiritual. The goat was a popular sacrificial animal in days gone by.

Saturn, structure and reality, teaches an understanding of limits in all areas of life. You respond to traditional values, rules and regulations, and proper thought and behaviour at an early age, even if you reject these things later. Without a coherent structure to guide you toward your goals, you risk losing your way. Ambition and enthusiasm fade without such a structure on which to hang them. Once the reality of something is understood, it is much easier to handle and manipulate. You can be a good builder, engineer, politician, lawyer, or business executive

Capricorn Rising

Capricorn Rising endows an energetic, success-oriented personality, with the determination to achieve your personal goals. The shrewdness and open ambition associated with the sun or moon in Capricorn does not always show up so overtly in the personality of those with Capricorn Ascendant but these traits are present nevertheless. You could be a very capable manager or supervisor, willing to accept responsibilities and positions of authority.

You strongly identify with the material world and tangible assets. You are unlikely to adopt easy-going, "take me as I am" attitudes, for you feel more comfortable with formality. You want to be aware of all the rules of social conduct and adapt your actions to fit these structures. Consciously or subconsciously you specifically choose the company of people who make you look good. It is not unusual for handsome Capricorn Rising males to select less attractive wives or, beautiful Capricorn Rising women to select less attractive female friends.

Ruled by Saturn, lord of structure, restriction, and longevity, you may have experienced a difficult birth or restricted childhood. However, it hardly matters what particular difficulties life presents you with, for your biggest challenge is always you in yourself. You feel dissatisfaction with some aspect of your personality or appearance and may develop conflicting behaviour to deal with these feelings when they surface. One side of your character is prone to practice strict self denial, while the other longs to abandon itself to hedonistic pleasures, perhaps as a form of self destruction. At every turn you confront fears and insecurity. How well you deal with the conflict marks your success as a well-adjusted adult. Fortunately, these conflicts seem to settle into perspective as you get older.

Capricorn ruling the first house raises the competitive spirit and by no means dictates the presence of a sombre or colourless personality. On the contrary, it implies individuals with overcompensatingly cheerful personalities, who willingly accept responsibilities and hardships which they feel they were born to endure. There is always a choice to be made and the right one is never easy, because it usually involves success which must be earned.

Winter Soltice, December 21, 2009

Today is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year in the north. The Sun's move into somber Capricorn at 12:46 pm EST reminds us of the hard journey back to the light of summer. The conjunction between jovial Jupiter and idealistic Neptune tempts us to put faith in our dreams. But even the Moon's entry into illusory Pisces at 6:42 pm EST won't be enough for us to forget about reality. Living in truth is more crucial now than ever before.

New Moon at 24* 40 Sagittarius, December 16

The New Moon in Sagittarius at 7:02 am EDT, gives you the perfect opportunity to embark on a fresh chapter in your life during the next two weeks, from moving house to falling in love, changing jobs and starting a new health regime.

This New Moon is charged up even more with energetic aspects to five other planets. Electric Uranus' tense square awakens an urge for freedom that's ideal for experimentation, yet makes it difficult to settle down and deal with routine tasks. A supportive trine from Mars brings creativity and vitality into play while a conjunction from lovely Venus provides grace, charm and a dash of sex appeal. Smart sextiles from the philosophical duo of Neptune and Sagittarius' ruling planet Jupiter open minds to recognize meaningful patterns. This hopeful pair encourages education and travel while supplying a dose of compassion to cool off the heat of strong opinions and harsh judgment.

Don’t miss this window of opportunity for making wishes to manifest aims you’d like to reach and experiences you’d like to have.

The Sabian Symbol for 25* Sagittarius: “A chubby boy on a hobby-horse; the anticipatory enjoyment of powers one can only as yet dream of utilizing”

This symbols speaks to imagination, ambition, and make believe in helping individuals refine and achieve their goals. Emphasis in resourcefulness, or the ability to make creative use of whatever is at hand, to refine skills needed to make a dream come true.

Because this New Moon is in the sign of SAGITTARIUS, it’s a powerful time for new beginnings in activating your love of travel and adventure! Things you may have wanted to happen in your life for a long time can begin easily manifesting through using the boost of this optimistic and freedom-loving NEW MOON!

For success, your wishes must be handwritten on paper and ten wishes maximum are allowed on each power day. The most potent time is the first 8 hours AFTER the exact time of the New Moon. The potency continues to exist for another twelve hours, but is weaker. For clear success, it’s best to avoid wishing during those hours when the Moon is Void of Course.

Among other things, SAGITTARIUS rules the trust in life itself that gives us the confidence to actually participate in the adventures we have longed to experience. Sagittarius is naturally a lucky sign, and this is largely due to their positive outlook on life. This is the best New Moon of the year for making wishes to have your own attitude become more positive and attractive of good luck.

It is an especially auspicious time for wishing to travel to a foreign country you have always wanted to visit; to attain peace of mind; to have a more positive and optimistic attitude.

The sign of Sagittarius calls us to adventure, to expand our horizons, seek different perspectives, and learn something new. It is about journeys, goals, philosophies, teaching and higher learning, as well as storytelling and cosmic law. Sagittarius and its ruling planet, Jupiter, offer us faith and hope in the Truth of the cosmic laws of Life. That's why Sagittarius also rules our religious beliefs, because the great religions of the world are meant to teach the eternal truths of the Spirit. It is up to each of us to look at ourselves and see if we are living those truths.

For the first time this year, all the planets have been moving in forward motion. These weeks before and after the Winter Solstice are full of positive energy which we can use to plant a new seed of consciousness at this New Moon. All New Moons are beginning times, and this New Moon highlights a new beginning for our beliefs.

At this time of year, we need to check-in with ourselves to see if our beliefs still serve our life's purpose. In this quiet time before the Solstice, as the darkness grows to its deepest depth, we need to take stock of our lives and our beliefs. Sometimes we forget that it is our values and dearest beliefs that give us the courage and will to live. During the Sun's journey through Sagittarius, we get to examine our beliefs and re-center ourselves around them.

Full moon in Gemini, December 2 at 2:32 am EDT

The Full Moon in Gemini is often a jittery time as nervous systems are stretched with an overdose of input. It's common to become scattered and unfocused amid the myriad of activities that fill life to the brim. The Gemini Moon's opposition to the Sagittarius Sun puts everything on the table for discussion. Yet we may discover that endless debate and dialogue can be exhausting. Fortunately, pragmatic Saturn's trine to the Full Moon keeps the clock of responsibility ticking, which should help the gabbiest among us from talking and talking and never turning words into action.

Meanwhile mercury is conjunct Pluto having just moved into zero Capricorn, also near the sun, and the FULL MOON alignment. With mercury near Pluto, we will find an intensity to the realm of our mind. Pluto's power is pure, its up to us how we manifest it through our speech this week as mercury and Pluto come together, with the light and expansion of the Full Moon. Our words will be supercharged--so let’s use that power with skill for joy and uplift of our souls, rather than digging up old shadows, conflicts, or wounds. The Full moon creates a T-Square with Saturn opposing Uranus. We are experiencing the breaking down of convention in any area where it is holding us back from solutions, truth, or creativity. This full moon is a bit of a crisis of organization with Saturn in the T-Square. Its time to Re-organize so that things function more smoothly for this upcoming age of Aquarius and what it means to new business.

When the full moon in Gemini highlights our self looking at our "other self”, we have moments of confrontation, and moments where we seem to stand on opposite sides of an issue. Sometimes, all we can do is laugh at how seriously we take ourselves. Ideas can change, polarized thought is two sides of a wheel. The whole wheel is kept moving by some mysterious force of creation and its important to honor the way each force, each place on the wheel, even when they are opposite positions on the wheel--is important for the health of the whole. Our uniqueness and diversity is the secret to our success and healing in the new time. As we have compassion for each other's differences, we can celebrate the power in diversity!!!!!!

December will be an inspiring call to action. Where November helped us question our values and begin the emotional work to begin shifting our values, expect the focus in December to return to societal and personal relationships. If you have done the work of understanding where you have sold out and accepted dreams, ideals, and inspiration that were not yours, the Gemini New Moon on December 2nd will lubricate your mind with all sorts of goodness.

Prepare to witness and receive all sorts of ideas. Your challenge is to stay focused and apply these ideas to how you can better connect to others. Expand what you think is possible in your relationships.
This Full Moon is the peak of the lunation that began in the cavernous soul depths of Scorpio. From that powerful New Moon in the sign of death and rebirth, now comes the shattering climax in Gemini. It's a light shining on what's been pulled from the psychic roots, and then a scattering to the four winds. After the plunge, it's time to mix it up with others. It's a nervous, jittery, very socially active Full Moon.
What's illuminated at this Full Moon in Gemini are the many sides of the self, we discover how changeable we are, and can enjoy the freedom of that. We see into the dark, and have heavy moments, but now it's time for lightness. Mutable Gemini reminds us not to grasp too tightly to one view of ourselves or a situation. That the mind plays tricks on us, and there's always another angle to see from. Or something clicks into place and everything changes.
The Sun and Venus are in Sagittarius, opposite to the Moon. What's picked up instinctively by the Gemini Full Moon's receptive antennae can be little triggers for growth. One theme is learning both by what we hear or read (Gemini) and what we experience (Sagittarius). With Venus close by, we're inspired to share the learning journey with others.
Grace Under Pressure
This Full Moon is a celebration of our ability to adapt to a world in the midst of a chaotic change. Take note of what you're fascinated by, the serendipities, and the people passing through your life....there may be a thread of inspiration to follow that gives you some sense of continuity.
The Sabian Symbol for 10 degrees Gemini is:
Aeroplane, after a nose-dive, rights itself gracefully. Capacity to plunge into experience without surrendering one's principles or self-control.
The meaning for this Full Moon is that even in the midst of dizzying change, we can keep our integrity in tact. We don't have to compromise our values, or give up in the face of chaotic events. To stabilize our racing thoughts, the Moon in air sign Gemini is trine to Saturn in Libra. This keeps us from spinning out of control. Saturn's influence steers us toward discovering a purpose for all the little flashes of insight we're having. Use what you gather to initiate something. It might lead to initiating a conversation, a business idea or speaking up for a cause.

Adapting to Major Change

Use this Full Moon to tap into your natural flexibility to adapt to change. The Saturn-Pluto square is in effect, and may alter your foundation without notice. The loose hold on fixed reality, of these two signs -- Gemini and Sagittarius -- are teachers now. They show us how to be light on our feet, and keep our humor. They show us how to bend, not break, when faced with shocking change.
Outbursts
Some crazy things could spill forth on the Full Moon. Mercury is in honest Sagittarius and in a square to bustin' out Uranus. Sagittarius brings us opportunities of inspired truth. It may be intense or shocking. But it goes straight to the heart of how you really feel.
These kinds of outbursts can be liberating, suddenly freeing you to live with more emotional integrity. If they come fast and furious, keep a journal close by to record your thoughts. Also, watch for dreams for imagery that offers guidance on how to move forward or free yourself in some way.

Sharing Your Uniqueness with Others
A key theme of our time is to heal from emotional-spiritual isolation, and quickly come together to share our gifts. The essence is unearthed now, and we move toward more authenticity. It's time to get real. Mars in Leo is a firestarter to rediscover your one true thing. It's the motivation to go toward making your mark. A clue to finding that one true thing is asking yourself what you'd like to be famous for.

The pull of Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius, in opposition to Mars (Leo), is to living your passion as a gift to humanity. That makes this a special time to re-align with your true purpose. Follow the natural curiosity that's aroused by the lit up Gemini-Sagittarius axis to find your way on the path.

New Moon at 24* 34 Scorpio, November 16 at 8:15 a.m. EDT

If there was ever a time for figuring out the source of difficulties in our lives, the New Moon at 24° 34′ Scorpio on November 16 is it.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is 25 Scorpio:

“An X-ray photograph helps with the diagnosis.” How appropriate is that for a New Moon in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius and trine Uranus in Pisces? There is little doubt that if we can identify a problem, we are well on the way to resolving it, providing we apply a generous dose of compassion and diligence.

Scorpio’s penetrating vision and willingness to use a scalpel to lance the wounds it finds may not be easy or comfortable, but if we can accept the necessity of doing so, we have an opportunity to really start healing wounds long ignored. There is also little hope of being able to continue to bury our heads in the sand, because our vulnerable backsides are sticking up, just waiting to get kicked. Fortunately, Uranus in Pisces trine the New Moon offers new possibilities and solutions to old dilemmas, with a nice measure of empathy thrown in.

Mars, Scorpio’s ruler, forms a square from dramatic Leo to Venus in very private Scorpio. This sets the stage for potential disagreements with friends and lovers, because both of these fixed signs tend to be somewhat possessive with jealousy consequently. Scorpio likes to hold their feelings close to the chest, and Leo prefers to make a public display of theirs – not a happy combination. Honesty is by far the best option, because if Scorpio finds out they have been lied to, there will be all hell to pay.

On the subject of honesty in relationships, the Saturn-Pluto square is just one day past making the first of three exact squares (the second one is January 31, 2010 and the third, August 21, 2010). At this time, we have help in the form of Mercury in forthright Sagittarius forming a sextile to Saturn in Libra and a semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. Yes, the words may be blunt and to the point, but if they reflect the truth as each person understands it, progress in resolving our differences can be made. The rewards will be well worth the pain.

All New Moons take us into the dark, so we can mix with the Void, and emerge anew. This one is the Mother of all Dark Moons, in Scorpio, the sign of death that births the new. If we choose to, we can seek deep soul healing now. Or we might find sexual healing. You might just ask spirit to heal what’s hurting. What’s needed now is a heart open to change, and the willingness to do whatever that takes.

We enter a darkness that’s the cauldron of primal energies. It’s a time of coming back to the base of soul power. Everything from giving away our power, to the simple stress of living can cause parts of us to “check out,” leading to the sense of being shutdown.

The New Moon chart shows the Sun-Moon in Scorpio, along with Venus. A main theme here is surrendering to a deep healing, release, purge of what’s become toxic in your life. It’s having the courage to look at what needs to go, in order for you to grow. It’s facing fears of being enveloped by the ‘crazy’ as it’s being released and integrated, not trying to tame that primal energy, but honor it by finding a way to express it. That might be through some catharsis, sex, sustained creative projects or ritual:

In the Crucible

Just like the last Full Moon, there’s a lot of tension (squares) that creates internal pressure in all of us. The biggie now is the square between Saturn and Pluto, which is exact right before the New Moon. This one is going to be long term, with no easy outs. It involves the ground beneath us and the diseased state of our institutions (Pluto in Capricorn).

Since Pluto rules Scorpio, it’s significant that it’s so close to this potent New Moon. The cure may be extreme, since the dis-ease is so embedded in our culture and in the process; those that fear losing power are likely to lash out. However, take heart that Saturn is now in Libra, the sign of moral conscience, justice and diplomacy. The friction of this square will be in play, as a cosmic re-balancer of a world out of whack.

Quantum Leaps

The Sun-Moon in Scorpio are in a tense square to planets in Aquarius (Neptune, Jupiter). This adds urgency to the need to release what’s in the personal shadows, so you can keep up with the quickening process of the collective. It also makes it feel like a collective deep healing process that is personal, but part of the bigger story of humanity. As you heal, you contribute to the healing of everyone, since we are all linked.

Venus square Mars

This is yet another provocative aspect at the New Moon. Venus drives us to be authentic with our feelings, and inspires us to lose the fake smile. This can be a highly creative aspect, if we express the uniqueness of our genuine story. We honor what we’ve been through, by leaving denial behind, and by claiming it as part of who we are. Our own darkness and story of healing can be inspiring to others, as part of song, art, and sharing.

Shocks to the Heart

The Sun-Moon in Scorpio are in a harmonious trine to Uranus (the awakener) in Pisces. As you go into the shadow, this speeds the healing process, and opens you to forgiveness of yourself and others.

You may have startling dreams that crack things open, and unravel a psychic mystery that has had you bound. It’s a time of dark imagination, where mystery lurks in the shadows, and can be the stuff of great art.

New Moon Rituals

The days leading to total lunar darkness pull us inward. There is no need to figure anything out. You can go far with this plunge into healing, by looking at your own resistance to let go. What we clutch tightly, as if our lives depended on it, is often the very thing we have to let go of, and in the release, great stores of energy are restored, and available for your use. It feels risky, but the rewards are great. A New Moon Ritual might involve a commitment to let go. Only you know what is tying up your vital energies, or where you are losing power.

Ritual Ideas:

■Draw a healing bath with lavender, and envision yourself being cleansed of what you’re carrying.
■Make a collage that has images of what you are like to seed for Spring, or visions of personal power.

Full Moon in Taurus

On November 2nd 2009, a full moon at 11 degrees of Taurus beams its moonlight on the earth to brighten our path in the darkness of night. The brightness of the full moon is a metaphor to our wishes and desires we planted in the New Moon period, and is growing clearer and brighter each day without any hidden agendas until it becomes full. The materialization of our wishes and hopes which reflects us and our needs is similar to the full moon which reflects the energy and thoughts of the Sun. With the full moon in Taurus the need to have or possess, to receive, to preserve, and to enjoy is essential in our daily lives.

With Jupiter and Mars squaring the Full Moon, the need to share, to expand, to care and to work towards a certain end which is familiar and lasting without becoming a dull and routine habit is a necessity. Jupiter teaches us that we need to share our good fortune and Mars pushes our thoughts of giving and service into action, rather than empty words that do nothing. Saturn still in opposition to Uranus and squaring Pluto is continuing to push for change, rebirth, regeneration, and the need to see things, both new and old, in a new light.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 11 degrees of Taurus:

A woman sprinkling flowers This is a symbol of the soul’s determination to give constant and tangible manifestation of its creative powers, and of its eagerness to pour itself into every potentiality of living. There is here an easy and rewarding partnership between man and nature, so that a natural profusion tends to match his inner generosity of spirit. He feels responsible for the welfare of his world, and its rewards for his interest are very great. The keyword is care. When positive, the degree is the high stewardship by which man builds everything around him into an enduring organism for his own fulfillment, and when negative, superficial satisfactions and a wasteful truckling to petty concerns.

Sabian Symbol for the Sun in 11 degrees Scorpio:

A drowning man rescued This is a symbol of the soul’s personal immortality, and of its unabated eagerness in returning to the various phases of its experience again and again. There is here a consistent partnership between man and nature, so that the very accidents of circumstance can be counted on to serve him as long as he maintains his underlying enthusiasm of being. His consciousness has continuity through his sense of responsibility for his own creative powers. The keyword is safety. When positive, the degree is the inherent courage which constitutes a protection from the vicissitudes of life, and when negative, a tendency to hysteria on the least occasion and a lean on transient excitement for all self-realization.

What this teaches us, is that no one person is an island unto himself without the help of others, and that the keyword for Taurus in the second house in the twenty first century is no longer I Have, but We Have and Share. The urgency for humanity is to realize that we are now a global community and the need to watch out and to care for one another, is one of the many important lessons we need to practice if we are to survive the coming ages. With Venus ruler of Taurus, we have not only the ability to appreciate and possess beautiful things and ideas, but we have the ability to have compassion for everyone and everything and every thought.

With the Full Moon in Taurus we are taking another step forward in learning to care.

The Full Moon is in Taurus, where its exalted, and draws us into a mood of reverence for natural rhythms. We slow down and become drunk on the sensual delights of Mother Nature. Earthy Taurus is about what we draw to us, in order to cultivate abundance. It roots us in, and asks us to slowly, but surely bring our ideas into form.
Taurus is languid and as slow as nature itself. But we are living in urgent times, and the fixed grand cross creates an "emergency" situation. It's a quickening for your treasure to be dug out, made shiny and shared widely.

A Change Cocoon: The Fixed Grand Cross!
This might be a laid back Full Moon that's buzzing with life and cricket sounds. But the Full Moon joins with planets in the other fixed signs, to form a grand cross. That means there are four clusters in square to each other. It generates tension and sparks, which is momentum for your growth. The fixed signs are deeply entrenched, so this square will involve excavating your riches and bringing them to the surface.

The cosmic players include the Sun-Mercury in Scorpio, along with Mars in Leo and Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius. It drops you into your tangible reality (Taurus) so you see how you're working your own fecund garden. Are you giving your natural gifts the time and effort they need to come into full flower? With Sun-Mercury in opposite Scorpio, it's a psychically potent moment to see what's holding you back. It cracks open the hard places of holding or hoarding, so you can release untapped potential. It invites you to release the grip of control, and take risks to be creative.

This is met by the themes of the Leo-Aquarius axis. Mars in Leo ignites a desire to act on what makes you unique, and share that as part of your gift to the world. It's about liberating your passions. It sets you up to be courageous and express who you really are. This highly energized Mars warms you from the inside, and the fully vibrant self steps forward. Finally, all this is gifted to humanity, as a contribution to the whole (Aquarius). This square is a big squeeze that can force out the hidden natural talents, so they can be enjoyed by all. On a spiritual level, it means unearthing your foundational gifts, mastering them, and offering it as Light (Aquarius) to en-lighten others.

Now is the Time
The tug-of-war of this Full Moon puts you on notice. That it's time to claim your true gifts, whatever it takes. That might mean turning yourself inside out, to heal from psychic-emotional wounds that prevent you from stepping into creative power. The penetrating vision of Scorpio is a window into the psychic shadows that drive you. That plutonic energy can be re-directed back to your slow, steady rhythm of fulfilling your life purpose. And as you do that, your creative fulfillment is a gift to others, too.

Kindred Spirits
Venus is in Libra, and at the Full Moon, it makes a sublime trine to the Jupiter-Neptune duo in Aquarius. This gives you the detachment to see above relationship quagmires. It creates a light social atmosphere, but one that is charged with electricity. It's a great time to initiate creative collaboration. And if the crucible of the grand cross kicks up a lot of bad vibes, this air trine allows for some perspective on what's happening. That adds to the special atmosphere of the Full Moon, for healing and going beyond old patterns.

Affirmations for the Full Moon in Taurus:
When I honor my creativity, I am gifting to the world.
I believe that I have something unique to share.
I grow rich when I lovingly cultivate my own talents and resources.
I have the courage to face my own darkness, and transform it.
What I hold deep within can be brought out, and enrich others.

Saturn enters Libra

Saturn is presently moving through the last decanate (the last ten degrees) of the sign of Virgo, and will enter Libra October 29th 2009 at 1:09PM EDT and will stay in Libra until April 6th 2010 when it goes back into Virgo, and then re enters Libra July 21, 2010 and will stay in Libra until October 5th 2012. Saturn retrogrades at 4-5 degrees Libra mid-January 2010, re-entering Virgo on April 7, 2010. Saturn then turns direct near the end of May, 2010, and returns to Libra on July 21, 2010.

In essence we have three years that we are ask to focus on and put energy towards peace, fairness, and a well balanced life. Venus, the ruler of Libra, is also in Libra. This is emphasizing the Saturn in Libra purpose of establishing healthy partnerships and especially romantic relationships. It is common to hear more news of divorce as Saturn moves through Libra as it uncovers unhealthy patterns that have been ignored.

Just for starters: Saturn in Libra is going to square Pluto just as fast as his Father Time legs will let him. Specifically for most of November. That means the period right before then will see the advance vibes jostling and hurling insults at each other.

The trash-talking won’t end in 2009 though. In January 2010, Saturn will slow down and station at 4 degrees Libra specifically so he can let Pluto catch up and they can continue their argument for another 3 weeks or so. Saturn will then be forced to say ‘whatever dude’ to Pluto and retreat back to Virgo for awhile to lick his wounds. Saturn and Pluto will then have another brief skirmish in August 2010. That’s 3 if you’re counting.

Just before round 3 with Pluto in August, Saturn will also try to pick a fight with Uranus, which will be in Aries by then. So we’ll see the same old Saturn/Uranus grudge match carried into a new pair of signs. It will be more of a brawl than usual in August 2010, because onlookers Jupiter and Mars will finally be drawn in. Jupiter will be in Aries and Mars will be in Libra. That would typically equate to a whole lot of shouting with some random and frantic efforts at peacemaking thrown in.

Saturn's effect is to shape up, to ground, and to solidify. Generally, the effect of Saturn transiting a house is felt in a more pronounced way in the first part of its transit through the house, as well as when it forms aspects to natal planets. Toward the end of the house, the native tends to have gained increased understanding—experience, if you will—with the effects. Saturn's movement by transit through the houses acts to aid us to learn to depend on ourselves in different areas of life. At first, we generally encounter feelings of being thwarted or unsupported by the outside world in the particular areas of life that are ruled by the house. By the end of the house transit, we will have learned to look within ourselves for support.

In general, as Saturn passes through the fire houses (the first, fifth, and ninth), we deal with self-confidence issues and how these issues have affected our lives and our productivity. Through the earth houses (the second, sixth, and tenth), we confront issues of self-worth and effectiveness. Through the air houses (the third, seventh, and eleventh), we evaluate our relationships with others and how much (or how little) we can depend on these, as well as our mental outlook. Through the water houses (the fourth, eighth, and twelfth), we re-evaluate our inner stores of faith, our connection with the past, and our psychological workings.

Saturn makes us accountable for ourselves wherever it touches. Each house governs specific areas of our lives, and of our personalities, and transits of Saturn will bring these areas up for "inspection", re-organization, and restructure.

Some Tips to Handle Saturn Transits:

Saturn teaches us about the value of moderation and caution. Perhaps the best way to "handle" hard Saturn transits to the houses of your chart is to avoid fighting these lessons. Accept that, at this time in your life, things may move at a slower speed (even a snail's pace). Saturn wants us to work hard, put our energies into practical, useful, and meaningful projects, and to live in the "here and now". This period in your life is a time for building a solid foundation. Understand that moderation at this point in your life is necessary for your spiritual growth and your physical body as well. Avoid blaming others for where you are at now for extended periods of time (some self-pity, however, may be necessary in order to gather strength and the ability to depend on yourself, however)—doing this will only lead to feelings of melancholy and anger. Know that this period in your life, while temporary, is a time for learning about your personal limits as well as your inner strength. Carry these lessons as you move beyond this phase, because how you handle your life now will make all the difference as Saturn moves into the successive house in your chart.

Techniques for Preparing for the Future and Understanding the Past

Themes we can expect while Saturn moves through the sign of Libra, on a personal level, revolve around taking a more serious look at our one-to-one relationships. Whether a partnership restricts us or not comes into focus, as well as whether or not the goals of each partner complement one another. Treating each other fairly is a theme, and it can take numerous negotiations and examinations in order to get to a place we will consider fair.

Are we pleasing a partner because we are afraid to assert ourselves, our needs, or our goals? Are we compromising our own needs in the process?

Saturn will be looking for balance, integrity, and fairness in the sign of Libra. We will be redesigning our definition of “self” that includes an “other”. Our ability to commit comes into question. Our ability to play by the rules in partnership also becomes critical. This is a time during which we explore our personal boundaries in partnership. Just how much a partnership limits us becomes glaringly apparent, especially in terms of our own fear of losing someone, or fear of rejection, and how that fear might limit our personal freedom.

If we’ve been giving more than taking, or taking more than giving, in an existing partnership, Saturn’s transit through Libra will point out the flaws in that type of arrangement. It’s all about responsibility and doing our share. If we’ve been unhappy with a partner’s contribution to the relationship, Saturn’s transit might magnify the problem in our minds.

Saturn does invoke a craving for whatever sign it inhabits or planet it touches. In Libra, we will be craving balance, but it will take some time to get there. Saturn slows things down to a near-stall, and this can be agonizing, if we are impatient or wanting instant results. Saturn takes its time, and this is a good thing. We can get to a healthy, balanced decision only if we take our time doing so.

Initially we can experience reluctance to compromise ourselves, but doing so in a balanced way brings about the eventual realization that we need the “other” in order to achieve. With Saturn, a desire to gain control is present, and some of us might attempt to control an “other”, and it’s a tendency we should try to avoid. Eventually and ideally, we understand that it is only ourselves who we can control.

The more negative expressions of Libra are things that won’t work for us now. These become glaring under Saturn’s stern eye. Resorting to appeasement as a means of keeping the peace is one such negative expression. Too often, partnerships turn into “me against you”. The goal in partnership should be to work as a team rather than as adversaries.

Saturn’s exalted position in Libra suggests perhaps easier lessons, or lessons that are more digestible, than they were while Saturn was in its “detriment” in Cancer and Leo, for example, and even while Saturn has been in Virgo.

Saturn in Libra is just and fair. They are refined and intellectual. They are natural diplomats and have a great sense of tact. They cooperate rather than compete, which makes it easy for them to work with others.

Libra Saturn may not get into relationships easily. Marriage may take a lot of work to be successful. They tend to have a bit of an inferiority complex when it comes to relationships. They may inadvertently run off those who are interested in getting to know them because they feel unlovable. They are afraid of rejection, and may try to shut themselves away. On the other hand, Saturn can stabilize Libran characteristics, making them more decisive and stable.
Saturn in Libra craves a solid relationship, but they may break the rules they set themselves, causing problems with their partner. They may limit themselves in fear of losing their partner. On the other hand, they have no problems using a partner simply for appearances.

For success, they must learn how to relate to other people on a personal and social level. They need to take responsibility for their actions in relationships. It lies entirely in their hands whether a relationship will be the source of growth or suffering. If they are receptive, reliable, tactful and organized, they could gain status and wealth.

Physically, Libra Saturn can have issues with the kidneys, intestine and lower back. They are not overly emotional. When a decision needs to be made, they weigh the pros and cons carefully. They need to find the balance between love and discipline, and give of themselves. Flexibility, patience and endurance will be skills that are often used.

When all is aligned, Saturn in Libra is pleasant, cares about others, and is tireless in serving. They can be artistic, or help civilize those who need the lessons. The companionship they seek can give them solace and security.

Transits of Saturn trough the Signs

Not everyone will feel the effects immediately, though. Cardinal signs or people with planets in early degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) should feel the effects the soonest.

Here’s a preview of Saturn in Libra for the various sun signs. We are going to be using the keyword relationships to represent the influence of Libra. For Saturn we will be using the concept that the planet points out areas where things are not as you would wish them to be, so that you can take actions and make corrections. Note that both Saturn and Libra relate to a lot more than this, so this is only one slice of the many potential possibilities. If you know your ascending sign read that also tat sign.

Aries: Saturn is moving out of your solar 6th house of work and health and into the sign opposite yours. This puts him in your solar 7th house of relationships. The most straightforward interpretation of this is that Saturn will point out to you which relationships in your life are not all that they could be or that your approach to relationships is not what you want it to be. Some of you will be literally battling it out with boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses, exes, or even enemies and rivals. Stuff comes out into the open during a Saturn transit. You are likely to have a new appreciation for the virtues of peace by the time Saturn leaves and thus a better handle on ways to avoid unnecessary conflict.

Taurus: Saturn is moving from your solar 5th house of love affairs and children to your solar 6th house. Saturn here tends to be stressful and to focus on either health or work issues. Saturn here can point out when relationships stress you and cut down your health and vitality. Proactive stress management becomes important. Relationships at work could also tax your patience. Saturn in an air sign teaches detachment as a road to stress relief and counteracts the natural tendency of an earth sign to react subjectively and emotionally in relationships.

Gemini: Saturn is moving off an angle (your solar 4th house) and into your solar 5th house of love affairs and children. This is a better spot for Saturn to be in for your sign. Your energy level and vitality may well pick up as Saturn moves away from a stressful angle with your sun. You may also find new abilities to be creative and disciplined at the same time. On the other hand, Saturn can point out where your relationship with girlfriends and boyfriends, etc. is not exactly what you want. The same idea applies to your relationships with your children. Saturn will ask you to solve problems in these areas.

Cancer: Saturn is moving away from your solar 3rd house onto an angle, your solar 4th house. The 4th house relates to family and virtually everything that is an offshoot of family–your home, your parents, your roots, your genetic, racial or national heritage, and the effects of those things on your life. Saturn here also opposes your solar midheaven (the MC generally refers to your career or public life). Attention to family members can take time away from focusing on your career, sometimes quite literally in the case of people who quit jobs to care for elderly parents. In general, though, Saturn shows you where your relationships with your family (especially parents or the older generation) are not all that you would like. You’ll be challenged to work through issues and problems and perhaps establish a bit more of your own identity.

Leo: Saturn moves away from your solar second house of finances to your solar third house. This can be a real relief, especially if your energy has been flagging. The third house is primarily a mental house (i.e., relates to the mind), so Saturn here can show you where your mental activities are not what you want them to be, and it can start encouraging you to proactively exercise your brain. The third house also relates to siblings, cousins, and other relationships that occur in everyday life (e.g., those with neighbors). Actively engaging in daily social relationships is good for your brain, too! If you have problems with your siblings, Saturn may well point this out to you. Problems here can be productively addressed.

Virgo: Saturn moves out of your sign and into your solar second house. The second house relates to finances and to what you own. A typical example of Saturn here (not the only one) is to point out how acquiring possessions to keep up the with Joneses or to impress other people can be self-defeating and burdensome. Saturn here can depress income (lower it), but it can also leave your income alone and encourage you to stop spending so much. Issues of joint finances and how you and your spouse relate on money can come up as well, especially since Uranus will be moving into your 8th house of marital finances next year. Becoming more conscious of how you spend money is almost a necessity during this transit.

Libra: Saturn will be moving out of your solar 12th house and into your own sign. Typically, this can affect how you present yourself to others. People often become aware of how they are defining themselves during a Saturn transit to their sign and they start feeling that they want to make a step up in how they advertise themselves to others. Sometimes it is said that Saturn in your own sign is a ‘bad’ transit, but in my experience with people it is not overall worse than having Saturn in another spot. In fact, you can make substantial changes in your life during a Saturn transit. Making the changes may be stressful, but the changes themselves are not. It is true, though, that almost all of your relationships can be affected by this transit to your sign, and not just one or two–because it is you yourself that is changing.

Scorpio: Saturn will be moving out of your solar 11th house of friendships and into your solar 12th house. Typically, a Saturn transit here changes your relationship with yourself more than with anyone else. A common response to Saturn in the 12th house is to become more socially isolated. Sometimes this is on purpose, sometimes due to circumstances, and sometimes both. Saturn in the 12th house is maybe not the ultimate ‘get to know yourself on a deeper level’ transit, but it does come close. Like any Saturn transit, it can point out to you areas where your relationship with yourself is really not what you’d like. Then you have a chance to correct problems.

Sagittarius: Saturn will be moving off an angle (your 10th house of career) and into your solar 11th house. On a straightforward level, Saturn here can affect your relationships with your friends. You may feel cooler toward them or vice versa. You may identify problems that need to be corrected. The same thing applies to groups you belong to. You may feel a need to straighten out problems there. On a larger level, Saturn in the 11th can affect how you relate to society in general. Your networking via social media sites can change, but also some of your deeper convictions and sense of contentment with how your life as a member of society is going. Social issues may affect you more profoundly. This can be good, in the sense of greater engagement with the world at large, and not so good, as you realize that society’s ills affect you personally.

Capricorn: Saturn enters your solar 10th house of career. This is like a triple whammy for you and it is not just the routine transit. That’s because Saturn is your ruler and the 10th house is ‘your’ house–the one associated with your sign. You’ve also got Pluto in your sign, putting more attention on you. To add to all that, Uranus will be moving into Aries and another angle of your chart (4th house–family). Saturn in the 10th is said to have 2 different kinds of effects. One would be typified by something like a promotion, wherein you gain more responsibilities and have to adjust. The other would be frustration with your career, often occasioned by relationships with other people. The typical tactful Capricorn strategy for climbing the ladder may suddenly appear to be fraught with problems and costs you didn’t previously find important. Career problem-solving becomes a top priority.

Aquarius: Saturn moves out of your solar 8th house of debt, joint and marital finances and various financial troubles and into your solar 9th house. The 9th house relates to a lot of things, some of them rather abstract. It is considered a much easier place to have Saturn in your transit chart than the 8th house. Part of this is because Saturn will be moving into a sign that is compatible with your sun. The 9th house relates to the search for reasons and purpose and meaning. A typical response to Saturn in Libra would be to look for the reasons behind other people’s behavior, to become more other-focused again after the stresses of the 8th house. The 9th house also relates to a lot of other things like publishing, higher education, and travel. So some will see long-term projects in those areas. But mostly it allows you to look at problems with others from a more detached, less gloomy or worried perspective than Saturn in Virgo.

Pisces: Saturn moves off an angle (7th house of relationships) and into your solar 8th house. The 8th house has to do with marital finances, debt, and quite often general financial problems. A fairly typical example of Saturn in the 8th would be a spouse with severe financial problems, perhaps due to a job layoff or other difficulty. This is the most financially hazardous house in which to find Saturn and a great deal of attention must be paid (in many cases) to financial problem-solving. Not the best transit under which to co-sign a loan with anyone. On a deeper level, Saturn spotlights who you choose to merge with, as virtually anyone you are financially entangled with could present problems. So the transit becomes an opportunity to become more conscious of the choices you make in relationships.

New Moon in Libra

The constellation Libra is the Scales, representing the weighing of both sides, and balance and fairness in relationships. It’s a good time to forgive, find resolution or reach a compromise. We’re more apt to find just the right gesture or word to set things right. Sometimes all it takes is being open to the other person’s perspective. And it’s miraculous how the words, “I’m sorry” have a way of setting the stage for resolution.

Balance in relationships can be a subtle thing. I once had the realization that my friend from college had been treating me for a long time, and it had led to things feeling off. Mainly it had to do with me having very little money and her having a lot. But it smarted when her boyfriend pointed it out. Without saying anything, I started picking up the tab when we met, and it has slowly started to right itself. A pinnacle moment was when I took them both to lunch when they were in town.

Libra is about give and take, and we can see now whether we’ve been giving or taking too much. We can see this month which relationships have equilibrium, and which are out of whack. We can see where our needs are met, or not. Libra is an initiating cardinal sign, giving us the gumption to act to set things right

When the Moon is new in Libra the Sun is also in Virgo. The New Moon is a time of beginnings. You can set intentions that grow with the lunar light and reach fruition at the Full Moon.

New Moon in Libra themes:
graceful living

It’s a Good Time to: stretch your body, mind and spirit; purify your living space; listen to someone; consider all sides of an issue; stay light on your feet; glam up your wardrobe; re-balance a relationship; allow time for relaxation; take courageous action; champion a cause; reflect someone’s beauty back to them; be a peacemaker; mediate a dispute; let your voice be heard on issues that matter to you; work for justice.

MOON of QUALITY
The NEW MOON of October 17-18 (1:33am EDT) takes place IN LIBRA. This sign of The Scales seeks to balance and harmonize. Though Libra may be argumentative, it is usually motivated by a sense of fair play, to have all sides aired, mediating a win-win scenario.

MERCURY and VENUS
The quality of this Moon is enhanced by the presence of Mercury and, most significantly, Venus in Libra. Venus as ruler of Libra wins the day with beauty and harmony. Yet one of the most dynamic planetary interplays of this New Moon pattern is the challenge made between Venus and Pluto, inscrutable and mysterious dwarf planet that necessitates letting go of the old to allow a renaissance. A Hindu version of Venus is Lakshmi, a gorgeous goddess dressed in a gold-trimmed red sari sitting on a full blooming lotus, showers petals and gold coins raining down around her. This is an enriching image of the cosmic feminine to invoke in times of financial stress, even as we head further into national and global discussions about our mutual situation.

PLUTO POWER

Pluto is about the power-players that run the world systems. Venus has a power of her own, woman power. With Pluto and Venus deep in negotiations, we can expect other such negotiations are going on about the economy. The power players are changing.

No matter what is going on in the power echelons, we each participate in the larger dialogue in the choices we make about how we spend money, placing our dollars where our true values lay. Venus rules the power of attraction, the emotional intelligence that resonates from the inside out and invites into our lives just what mirrors our emotional state of being. How awful does it have to get before we can’t stand it any more and make some changes? This is the time. With Saturn going into Libra at the end of this month, dialogue is required and choices are going to be made. Let’s take charge of our personal choices.

THAT TRIPLE CONJUNCTION IN MOTION

Meanwhile this New Moon is in excellent alignment with the ongoing, rare triple conjunction of planets in Aquarius. Jupiter offers expansion and wisdom, meta-physical Neptune refines the energy that can be experienced as anxiety and/or sensitivity, and Chiron raise the bar of paradigm shift. Soon after their peak conjunction in May, all three planets turned to retrograde motion, giving us a period of time to integrate the implications of the global realignment in progress. Now all three are moving forward again.
Occurring on October 18, the Libra new Moon promises some interesting insights and realizations.

The Sabian Symbol is Libra 25: The Sight of an Autumn Leaf Brings to a Pilgrim the Sudden Revelation of the Mystery of Life and Death.

This Symbol can indicate an insight into something that can change the course of one’s life. The “Autumn Leaf” in this Symbol brings to the “Pilgrim” the “Sudden” understanding of the cycle of life, death and rebirth. The “Mystery of Life” seems to unfold before the “Pilgrim’s” inner vision. He can see that the seed has grown into a tree and the tree’s leaves have now fallen with the change of the seasons, ready for the new birth in the spring. The “Autumn Leaf” becomes the composted material that nourishes the new seeds and fosters and nourishes new growth. Often we go through our lives without noticing the information that can be gained from looking at small or seemingly insignificant things. The “Revelation” that is experienced can change one’s life, if time is taken to stop long enough to really look into it. At this point, you may feel that you’ve learned much but have grown tired of seeking information for life’s meaning through more conventional channels. Look for answers to your problems in simple, everyday moments. They are fleeting, but they are around you. Look for the signs, they can have profound effects.
The following are my keywords for this degree: Seasonal adjustments, fleeting inspiration, seeing things in their own time, spiritual revelations, conversations with God, feeling blessed, the beauty and timelessness of nature, contact with nature spirits, angelic visions, photography and having a photographic mind, being here now, pilgrims and their journeys, the Hadj pilgrimage, solving problems, quick and deep minds, snapshots in time.

Saturn is bringing an interesting insight into the fact that some conventional types of wisdom or knowledge may not bring people the insights and information that they are seeking. Obviously, we still must be seekers, or pilgrims on the path, but we need to be discriminating (good Saturn word there) about what we allow to influence us.

The Sabian Symbol of Saturn on this new Moon is Virgo 29: a Man is Gaining Secret Knowledge from an Ancient Scroll He is Reading.

This speaks of learning from ancient mysteries, looking for answers, study and its rewards, reading between the lines, finding clues from the past and applying them to the present, being privileged to look into something special, alchemy, the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, manuscripts, scrolls, ancient writings, Akashic records, classified documents, secret papers, scrolls, etc.

Venus is on a wonderful Symbol at Libra 5: A Man Teaching the True Inner Knowledge of the New World to His Students.

This speaks of guidance and protection on the path, being a guiding light for others, imparting knowledge, wisdom, looking for truth, seeking answers to complicated questions, listening and learning, turning to others to receive guidance, speaking one’s truth.

The idea of having one’s realizations and ideas coming to light is amplified with Venus moving the day after the new Moon onto the degree

Libra 6: A Man Watches His Ideals Taking a Concrete Form Before His Inner Vision.

Libra 5 and Libra 6 were accentuated in the recent Mercury retrograde phase. This means it is really important that we realize the lessons that are coming to us now and there’s the need to bring these insights and understanding into our everyday lives.

The issue of things that are fleeting holding special messages is amplified by Mercury (the one who brings messages – the communicator) on

Libra 13: Children Blowing Soap Bubbles.

This speaks of having fun, enjoying one’s life, being lighthearted, and, in the context of this new Moon, it speaks rather strongly of taking notice of things that are said on the spur of the moment – lightly – it can show those moments or sentiments when things are said as a kind of ‘throw away line’ as these can have extraordinary significance for you and others.

Compounding this need for finding meaning or seeking knowledge is the Moon’s south node on Cancer 26: Guests Are Reading in the Library of a Luxurious Home.

This speaks about sharing thoughts and ideas, libraries, reading rooms, quietly chatting, books, magazines, study groups, having friends over.

The Moon’s north node holds a message that we need to grasp as we skip along the pilgrim’s path kicking those autumn leaves and thinking about eternity.

The Symbol is Capricorn 26: A Nature Spirit Dancing in the Mist of a Waterfall.

We need to keep our minds and spirits effervescent and carefree. Whilst we are best served by being observant about the clues all around you, we need to keep a light-hearted and young attitude and we need to remember to dance! Jupiter is asking us to reveal ourselves or parts of ourselves.

The Sabian Symbol for Jupiter is Aquarius 18: A Man Unmasked at a Masquerade.

Plumbing the depths of yourself, and perhaps others, is going to help to bring these new understandings to you. Perhaps it’s the new understandings that take away the masks? Regardless, it’s time to be more authentic and more upfront and honest about who we are.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Sabian Symbol for the degree after (the Quest degree) the new Moon. This is because just moments after the new Moon, both the Moon and the Sun move onto the next degree. This is because the new Moon is at 24Libra58, which is right on the last minutes of the Pilgrim degree.

The Sabian Symbol is Libra 26: An Eagle and a Large White Dove Turning Constantly Into Each Other.

This Symbol says there’s a need to temper one’s will with love while bolstering one’s emotional responses with strength. It speaks of cooperation of mind, will, spirit and heart = being soft and strong at the same time. We need to be strong, but not aggressive, firm without being too assertive, confident without being oppressive and kind without being weak.

Quite the test, but one thing’s certain; we learn a lot by watching what’s happening on the path.
