Full moon in Gemini, December 2 at 2:32 am EDT

The Full Moon in Gemini is often a jittery time as nervous systems are stretched with an overdose of input. It's common to become scattered and unfocused amid the myriad of activities that fill life to the brim. The Gemini Moon's opposition to the Sagittarius Sun puts everything on the table for discussion. Yet we may discover that endless debate and dialogue can be exhausting. Fortunately, pragmatic Saturn's trine to the Full Moon keeps the clock of responsibility ticking, which should help the gabbiest among us from talking and talking and never turning words into action.

Meanwhile mercury is conjunct Pluto having just moved into zero Capricorn, also near the sun, and the FULL MOON alignment. With mercury near Pluto, we will find an intensity to the realm of our mind. Pluto's power is pure, its up to us how we manifest it through our speech this week as mercury and Pluto come together, with the light and expansion of the Full Moon. Our words will be supercharged--so let’s use that power with skill for joy and uplift of our souls, rather than digging up old shadows, conflicts, or wounds. The Full moon creates a T-Square with Saturn opposing Uranus. We are experiencing the breaking down of convention in any area where it is holding us back from solutions, truth, or creativity. This full moon is a bit of a crisis of organization with Saturn in the T-Square. Its time to Re-organize so that things function more smoothly for this upcoming age of Aquarius and what it means to new business.

When the full moon in Gemini highlights our self looking at our "other self”, we have moments of confrontation, and moments where we seem to stand on opposite sides of an issue. Sometimes, all we can do is laugh at how seriously we take ourselves. Ideas can change, polarized thought is two sides of a wheel. The whole wheel is kept moving by some mysterious force of creation and its important to honor the way each force, each place on the wheel, even when they are opposite positions on the wheel--is important for the health of the whole. Our uniqueness and diversity is the secret to our success and healing in the new time. As we have compassion for each other's differences, we can celebrate the power in diversity!!!!!!

December will be an inspiring call to action. Where November helped us question our values and begin the emotional work to begin shifting our values, expect the focus in December to return to societal and personal relationships. If you have done the work of understanding where you have sold out and accepted dreams, ideals, and inspiration that were not yours, the Gemini New Moon on December 2nd will lubricate your mind with all sorts of goodness.

Prepare to witness and receive all sorts of ideas. Your challenge is to stay focused and apply these ideas to how you can better connect to others. Expand what you think is possible in your relationships.
This Full Moon is the peak of the lunation that began in the cavernous soul depths of Scorpio. From that powerful New Moon in the sign of death and rebirth, now comes the shattering climax in Gemini. It's a light shining on what's been pulled from the psychic roots, and then a scattering to the four winds. After the plunge, it's time to mix it up with others. It's a nervous, jittery, very socially active Full Moon.
What's illuminated at this Full Moon in Gemini are the many sides of the self, we discover how changeable we are, and can enjoy the freedom of that. We see into the dark, and have heavy moments, but now it's time for lightness. Mutable Gemini reminds us not to grasp too tightly to one view of ourselves or a situation. That the mind plays tricks on us, and there's always another angle to see from. Or something clicks into place and everything changes.
The Sun and Venus are in Sagittarius, opposite to the Moon. What's picked up instinctively by the Gemini Full Moon's receptive antennae can be little triggers for growth. One theme is learning both by what we hear or read (Gemini) and what we experience (Sagittarius). With Venus close by, we're inspired to share the learning journey with others.
Grace Under Pressure
This Full Moon is a celebration of our ability to adapt to a world in the midst of a chaotic change. Take note of what you're fascinated by, the serendipities, and the people passing through your life....there may be a thread of inspiration to follow that gives you some sense of continuity.
The Sabian Symbol for 10 degrees Gemini is:
Aeroplane, after a nose-dive, rights itself gracefully. Capacity to plunge into experience without surrendering one's principles or self-control.
The meaning for this Full Moon is that even in the midst of dizzying change, we can keep our integrity in tact. We don't have to compromise our values, or give up in the face of chaotic events. To stabilize our racing thoughts, the Moon in air sign Gemini is trine to Saturn in Libra. This keeps us from spinning out of control. Saturn's influence steers us toward discovering a purpose for all the little flashes of insight we're having. Use what you gather to initiate something. It might lead to initiating a conversation, a business idea or speaking up for a cause.

Adapting to Major Change

Use this Full Moon to tap into your natural flexibility to adapt to change. The Saturn-Pluto square is in effect, and may alter your foundation without notice. The loose hold on fixed reality, of these two signs -- Gemini and Sagittarius -- are teachers now. They show us how to be light on our feet, and keep our humor. They show us how to bend, not break, when faced with shocking change.
Outbursts
Some crazy things could spill forth on the Full Moon. Mercury is in honest Sagittarius and in a square to bustin' out Uranus. Sagittarius brings us opportunities of inspired truth. It may be intense or shocking. But it goes straight to the heart of how you really feel.
These kinds of outbursts can be liberating, suddenly freeing you to live with more emotional integrity. If they come fast and furious, keep a journal close by to record your thoughts. Also, watch for dreams for imagery that offers guidance on how to move forward or free yourself in some way.

Sharing Your Uniqueness with Others
A key theme of our time is to heal from emotional-spiritual isolation, and quickly come together to share our gifts. The essence is unearthed now, and we move toward more authenticity. It's time to get real. Mars in Leo is a firestarter to rediscover your one true thing. It's the motivation to go toward making your mark. A clue to finding that one true thing is asking yourself what you'd like to be famous for.

The pull of Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius, in opposition to Mars (Leo), is to living your passion as a gift to humanity. That makes this a special time to re-align with your true purpose. Follow the natural curiosity that's aroused by the lit up Gemini-Sagittarius axis to find your way on the path.

New Moon at 24* 34 Scorpio, November 16 at 8:15 a.m. EDT

If there was ever a time for figuring out the source of difficulties in our lives, the New Moon at 24° 34′ Scorpio on November 16 is it.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is 25 Scorpio:

“An X-ray photograph helps with the diagnosis.” How appropriate is that for a New Moon in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius and trine Uranus in Pisces? There is little doubt that if we can identify a problem, we are well on the way to resolving it, providing we apply a generous dose of compassion and diligence.

Scorpio’s penetrating vision and willingness to use a scalpel to lance the wounds it finds may not be easy or comfortable, but if we can accept the necessity of doing so, we have an opportunity to really start healing wounds long ignored. There is also little hope of being able to continue to bury our heads in the sand, because our vulnerable backsides are sticking up, just waiting to get kicked. Fortunately, Uranus in Pisces trine the New Moon offers new possibilities and solutions to old dilemmas, with a nice measure of empathy thrown in.

Mars, Scorpio’s ruler, forms a square from dramatic Leo to Venus in very private Scorpio. This sets the stage for potential disagreements with friends and lovers, because both of these fixed signs tend to be somewhat possessive with jealousy consequently. Scorpio likes to hold their feelings close to the chest, and Leo prefers to make a public display of theirs – not a happy combination. Honesty is by far the best option, because if Scorpio finds out they have been lied to, there will be all hell to pay.

On the subject of honesty in relationships, the Saturn-Pluto square is just one day past making the first of three exact squares (the second one is January 31, 2010 and the third, August 21, 2010). At this time, we have help in the form of Mercury in forthright Sagittarius forming a sextile to Saturn in Libra and a semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. Yes, the words may be blunt and to the point, but if they reflect the truth as each person understands it, progress in resolving our differences can be made. The rewards will be well worth the pain.

All New Moons take us into the dark, so we can mix with the Void, and emerge anew. This one is the Mother of all Dark Moons, in Scorpio, the sign of death that births the new. If we choose to, we can seek deep soul healing now. Or we might find sexual healing. You might just ask spirit to heal what’s hurting. What’s needed now is a heart open to change, and the willingness to do whatever that takes.

We enter a darkness that’s the cauldron of primal energies. It’s a time of coming back to the base of soul power. Everything from giving away our power, to the simple stress of living can cause parts of us to “check out,” leading to the sense of being shutdown.

The New Moon chart shows the Sun-Moon in Scorpio, along with Venus. A main theme here is surrendering to a deep healing, release, purge of what’s become toxic in your life. It’s having the courage to look at what needs to go, in order for you to grow. It’s facing fears of being enveloped by the ‘crazy’ as it’s being released and integrated, not trying to tame that primal energy, but honor it by finding a way to express it. That might be through some catharsis, sex, sustained creative projects or ritual:

In the Crucible

Just like the last Full Moon, there’s a lot of tension (squares) that creates internal pressure in all of us. The biggie now is the square between Saturn and Pluto, which is exact right before the New Moon. This one is going to be long term, with no easy outs. It involves the ground beneath us and the diseased state of our institutions (Pluto in Capricorn).

Since Pluto rules Scorpio, it’s significant that it’s so close to this potent New Moon. The cure may be extreme, since the dis-ease is so embedded in our culture and in the process; those that fear losing power are likely to lash out. However, take heart that Saturn is now in Libra, the sign of moral conscience, justice and diplomacy. The friction of this square will be in play, as a cosmic re-balancer of a world out of whack.

Quantum Leaps

The Sun-Moon in Scorpio are in a tense square to planets in Aquarius (Neptune, Jupiter). This adds urgency to the need to release what’s in the personal shadows, so you can keep up with the quickening process of the collective. It also makes it feel like a collective deep healing process that is personal, but part of the bigger story of humanity. As you heal, you contribute to the healing of everyone, since we are all linked.

Venus square Mars

This is yet another provocative aspect at the New Moon. Venus drives us to be authentic with our feelings, and inspires us to lose the fake smile. This can be a highly creative aspect, if we express the uniqueness of our genuine story. We honor what we’ve been through, by leaving denial behind, and by claiming it as part of who we are. Our own darkness and story of healing can be inspiring to others, as part of song, art, and sharing.

Shocks to the Heart

The Sun-Moon in Scorpio are in a harmonious trine to Uranus (the awakener) in Pisces. As you go into the shadow, this speeds the healing process, and opens you to forgiveness of yourself and others.

You may have startling dreams that crack things open, and unravel a psychic mystery that has had you bound. It’s a time of dark imagination, where mystery lurks in the shadows, and can be the stuff of great art.

New Moon Rituals

The days leading to total lunar darkness pull us inward. There is no need to figure anything out. You can go far with this plunge into healing, by looking at your own resistance to let go. What we clutch tightly, as if our lives depended on it, is often the very thing we have to let go of, and in the release, great stores of energy are restored, and available for your use. It feels risky, but the rewards are great. A New Moon Ritual might involve a commitment to let go. Only you know what is tying up your vital energies, or where you are losing power.

Ritual Ideas:

■Draw a healing bath with lavender, and envision yourself being cleansed of what you’re carrying.
■Make a collage that has images of what you are like to seed for Spring, or visions of personal power.

Full Moon in Taurus

On November 2nd 2009, a full moon at 11 degrees of Taurus beams its moonlight on the earth to brighten our path in the darkness of night. The brightness of the full moon is a metaphor to our wishes and desires we planted in the New Moon period, and is growing clearer and brighter each day without any hidden agendas until it becomes full. The materialization of our wishes and hopes which reflects us and our needs is similar to the full moon which reflects the energy and thoughts of the Sun. With the full moon in Taurus the need to have or possess, to receive, to preserve, and to enjoy is essential in our daily lives.

With Jupiter and Mars squaring the Full Moon, the need to share, to expand, to care and to work towards a certain end which is familiar and lasting without becoming a dull and routine habit is a necessity. Jupiter teaches us that we need to share our good fortune and Mars pushes our thoughts of giving and service into action, rather than empty words that do nothing. Saturn still in opposition to Uranus and squaring Pluto is continuing to push for change, rebirth, regeneration, and the need to see things, both new and old, in a new light.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 11 degrees of Taurus:

A woman sprinkling flowers This is a symbol of the soul’s determination to give constant and tangible manifestation of its creative powers, and of its eagerness to pour itself into every potentiality of living. There is here an easy and rewarding partnership between man and nature, so that a natural profusion tends to match his inner generosity of spirit. He feels responsible for the welfare of his world, and its rewards for his interest are very great. The keyword is care. When positive, the degree is the high stewardship by which man builds everything around him into an enduring organism for his own fulfillment, and when negative, superficial satisfactions and a wasteful truckling to petty concerns.

Sabian Symbol for the Sun in 11 degrees Scorpio:

A drowning man rescued This is a symbol of the soul’s personal immortality, and of its unabated eagerness in returning to the various phases of its experience again and again. There is here a consistent partnership between man and nature, so that the very accidents of circumstance can be counted on to serve him as long as he maintains his underlying enthusiasm of being. His consciousness has continuity through his sense of responsibility for his own creative powers. The keyword is safety. When positive, the degree is the inherent courage which constitutes a protection from the vicissitudes of life, and when negative, a tendency to hysteria on the least occasion and a lean on transient excitement for all self-realization.

What this teaches us, is that no one person is an island unto himself without the help of others, and that the keyword for Taurus in the second house in the twenty first century is no longer I Have, but We Have and Share. The urgency for humanity is to realize that we are now a global community and the need to watch out and to care for one another, is one of the many important lessons we need to practice if we are to survive the coming ages. With Venus ruler of Taurus, we have not only the ability to appreciate and possess beautiful things and ideas, but we have the ability to have compassion for everyone and everything and every thought.

With the Full Moon in Taurus we are taking another step forward in learning to care.

The Full Moon is in Taurus, where its exalted, and draws us into a mood of reverence for natural rhythms. We slow down and become drunk on the sensual delights of Mother Nature. Earthy Taurus is about what we draw to us, in order to cultivate abundance. It roots us in, and asks us to slowly, but surely bring our ideas into form.
Taurus is languid and as slow as nature itself. But we are living in urgent times, and the fixed grand cross creates an "emergency" situation. It's a quickening for your treasure to be dug out, made shiny and shared widely.

A Change Cocoon: The Fixed Grand Cross!
This might be a laid back Full Moon that's buzzing with life and cricket sounds. But the Full Moon joins with planets in the other fixed signs, to form a grand cross. That means there are four clusters in square to each other. It generates tension and sparks, which is momentum for your growth. The fixed signs are deeply entrenched, so this square will involve excavating your riches and bringing them to the surface.

The cosmic players include the Sun-Mercury in Scorpio, along with Mars in Leo and Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius. It drops you into your tangible reality (Taurus) so you see how you're working your own fecund garden. Are you giving your natural gifts the time and effort they need to come into full flower? With Sun-Mercury in opposite Scorpio, it's a psychically potent moment to see what's holding you back. It cracks open the hard places of holding or hoarding, so you can release untapped potential. It invites you to release the grip of control, and take risks to be creative.

This is met by the themes of the Leo-Aquarius axis. Mars in Leo ignites a desire to act on what makes you unique, and share that as part of your gift to the world. It's about liberating your passions. It sets you up to be courageous and express who you really are. This highly energized Mars warms you from the inside, and the fully vibrant self steps forward. Finally, all this is gifted to humanity, as a contribution to the whole (Aquarius). This square is a big squeeze that can force out the hidden natural talents, so they can be enjoyed by all. On a spiritual level, it means unearthing your foundational gifts, mastering them, and offering it as Light (Aquarius) to en-lighten others.

Now is the Time
The tug-of-war of this Full Moon puts you on notice. That it's time to claim your true gifts, whatever it takes. That might mean turning yourself inside out, to heal from psychic-emotional wounds that prevent you from stepping into creative power. The penetrating vision of Scorpio is a window into the psychic shadows that drive you. That plutonic energy can be re-directed back to your slow, steady rhythm of fulfilling your life purpose. And as you do that, your creative fulfillment is a gift to others, too.

Kindred Spirits
Venus is in Libra, and at the Full Moon, it makes a sublime trine to the Jupiter-Neptune duo in Aquarius. This gives you the detachment to see above relationship quagmires. It creates a light social atmosphere, but one that is charged with electricity. It's a great time to initiate creative collaboration. And if the crucible of the grand cross kicks up a lot of bad vibes, this air trine allows for some perspective on what's happening. That adds to the special atmosphere of the Full Moon, for healing and going beyond old patterns.

Affirmations for the Full Moon in Taurus:
When I honor my creativity, I am gifting to the world.
I believe that I have something unique to share.
I grow rich when I lovingly cultivate my own talents and resources.
I have the courage to face my own darkness, and transform it.
What I hold deep within can be brought out, and enrich others.
