This is an exciting time as we say goodbye to 2009 which was a year where the economy dominated the thinking of so many people. The fortunes for the world will be quite different this year.
We said goodbye to the first decade with a Lunar Eclipse (and Blue Moon) on December 31st that draws emphasis to our need to strike a healthy balance between our inner and outer lives, and between home and work. This is an excellent time to tune in to your inner self and clarify the direction you wish to follow as a means of reaching harmony with your highest needs.
January 01, Friday. The New Year begins at mid-night with Sirius on the Mid-heaven or is crossing the meridian. We begin the year with 4 planets (Pluto, Venus, Sun and Mercury Retrograde) in Capricorn along with the North Node.
January 02, Saturday. The Moon moved into Leo last night and is visible approaching retrograde Mars tonight catching up in the early morning hours tomorrow depending on your time zone.
January 03, Sunday. The Moon will have moved beyond retrograde Mars by Moon rise tonight.
January 04, Monday. Today marks the latest Sunrise of the year around 7:22 am. Retrograde Mercury is conjunct the Sun beginning a new Mercury cycle that will last about 120 days.
January 05, Tuesday. Mercury and Venus conjunct (13 Capricorn 22) very near the Sun at 15 Capricorn
January 06, Wednesday. Moon is conjunct Saturn (4 Libra 36)
January 07, Thursday. The Libra Last Quarter Moon (17 Libra) and is visible near Spica.
January 08, Friday. The Moon moves into Scorpio.
January 09, Saturday. Saturn (4 Libra) Pluto (3 Capricorn) Square
January 10, Sunday. The Moon moves into Sagittarius.
January 11, Monday. Venus conjuncts the Sun (22 Capricorn) near the North Node.
January 12, Tuesday. The Moon moves into Capricorn
January 13, Wednesday. The Moon is conjunct Pluto (3 Capricorn 45). Saturn stations retrograde. Sun (24 Capricorn) sextiles Uranus (24 Pisces)
January 14, Thursday. For those in the Pacific Time Zone today marks the New Moon Eclipse (25 Capricorn at 11:11 pm.
January 15, Friday. The Moon conjuncts Venus (26 Capricorn) just a couple of hours after the exact eclipse. And Mercury stations direct (5 Capricorn). Mercury has been square Pluto though not exact.
January 16, Saturday. The Moon moved into Aquarius yesterday after the eclipse. The Moon conjuncts Neptune and then Moves into Pisces just as Jupiter moves into Pisces and also conjuncts the Moon today. Neptune and Chiron are in a close circle of about 6 degrees in diameter.
January 18, Monday. Venus moves into Aquarius today until February 11.
January 19, Tuesday. The Sun moves into Aquarius and the Moon conjuncts Uranus (24 Pisces)
January 20, Wednesday. The Moon moves into Aries
January 21, Thursday. Venus (4 Aquarius) trines retrograde Saturn (4 Libra).
January 22, Friday. The Moon moves into Taurus.
January 23, Saturday. The Taurus First Quarter Moon (3 Taurus 20)
January 24, Sunday. The Sun (4 Aquarius) trines Saturn (4 Libra)
January 25, Monday. The Moon is 3.2 degrees SW of Pleiades in the evening sky and moves into Gemini
January 26, Tuesday. The Gemini Moon reaches Aldebaran
January 27, Wednesday. The Moon moves into Cancer crossing the Galactic Plane near the Galactic Edge.
January 28, Thursday. The Moon again reaches the South Node still at (21 Capricorn).
January 29, Friday. Retrograde Mars is opposite the Sun. Tonight is the fullest rise of the Leo Full Moon (10 Leo) exact late tonight or early tomorrow depending on your time zone.
January 30, Saturday. The Moon has once again caught up to Mars passing this retrograde planet.
January 31, Sunday. The Moon moves into Virgo and retrograde Saturn makes another exact square to Pluto.
