Full Moon at 29*27 Cancer on Wednesday, January 19th

The Full Moon in Cancer happens at 29 degrees on January 19, 2011.

The astrological sign of Cancer symbolizes emotional self, family, emotional security and nurturing amongst other things. It is also symbolized as dynamically moving water, helping us to being receptive, intuitive and to embrace feeling. Similar to waves in the Ocean, the high and low tides our own emotional nature may move in rhythms as well. Around a full moon phase, the emotions may run high and low, especially this Full Moon in Cancer. We may feel extra sensitive or incredibly reactive at the seams. Seeking comfort from food, movies, or old pictures is possible. It’s like we gravitate towards something to cuddle or snuggle with and it doesn’t have to be a person. We may find a comfy blanket or fluffy sweater that adds a layer of cozy within us.

At this juncture, the Full Moon symbolically will heighten the urge towards completely letting go. Emotional attachment will prolong things. Remaining in the space of emotional insecurity will keep one weak. Flush it out altogether. Let the tears, joy, and healing flow through. Our inner stability returns through this process. A new chapter is about to begin, similar to the Sun rising in the early morning and the fog dissipating. The past need not define you any longer. The Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Cancer reminds us to balance both the physical world and emotional world. We must find the common ground to feel emotionally mature in our daily interactions with self, others and life itself.

This Full Moon's Sabian Symbol, “A Daughter of The American Revolution”, suggests respect for traditions that remain useful, while still embracing the paradigm shifts needed to spring forward. It also infers that the most exalted qualities of feminine energy – receptivity, sensitivity, and intuitiveness – are central to the new reality now emerging.

The Moon in Cancer makes an inconjunct aspect to Neptune/Chiron in Aquarius, we may have to take a step back, detach to gain a more objective perspective about the issue or situation. We are encouraged to be compassionate and tender to self and others now.

Making peace with whatever we were wrestling with in the past that is in front of us now. We are drawn to find solace to comfort and care for personal emotional waves that may arise now. Also happening, Jupiter at 29 degrees Pisces will make a gorgeous connection to the Moon in Cancer, which can symbolize an expansion of ‘feeling comforted or blessed’ as we process things out. It can also be a tremendous boost for emotional healing. We have that extra Divine Cushion or Angel watching over us through this. If we need to express ourselves and needs we can do so feeling a boost of confidence and gentleness behind us.

Full Moon in Cancer Ceremony:

Listen to waters flowing, watch it and move. Allow yourself to breathe deeply and then allow the emotions to flow. Become one with the water. In a quiet, safe space: Find one place where you feel full of emotional pain or sorrow. How can you fulfill your emotional need? This is one step towards empowering yourself. Be tender and feel whatever comes up, let it move through without holding back. The gift of joy and peace is waiting behind the sorrow. You are joy itself as Soul, feel the love expanding within you.

New Moon Solar Eclipse at 12* Capricorn, January 6th at 4:03 am

The New Moon Solar Eclipse on January 4, 2011 will be an ideal time to set your New Year's intentions, dreams, and goals.  The New (waxing) Moon is the most auspicious time to literally write down your visions and light a candle to usher them in.

2011 Comes in with a Bang! A solar eclipse in the sign of Capricorn bringing up last summer's cardinal climax issues heralds in the New Year. This eclipse brings us an opportunity for new beginnings with our business, government and structured groups. In my opinion, it is the best day to start your new year's resolution rather than on January 1st. Partially because this is the new moon, good for new starts and also because it is in the sign of Capricorn which rules structure, willpower and discipline.

There is a beautiful cycle for financial gain also on January 4th with Venus trine Jupiter and Uranus. Whatever you start now, has great potential to make strong financial gains. Because Venus is involved in a strong position, new romance is favored too. Some of you may meet a new lover unexpectedly under these circumstances.

At the same time, the eclipse brings new duties and responsibilities to handle. Some of us may feel overwhelmed and like we have lots of obligations to tend to.

This particular eclipse, occurring in Capricorn, will pair a powerful New Moon with the intensity of the Sun to present you with a focused message: Allow your heart and mind to become one. The Universe wants you to perfect one particular area of your life so you can take a giant leap toward more fully developing both who you are as a person and who you could become.

The one thing this Solar Eclipse will not allow you to do is stand still. You can either dive into these energies and initiate some sort of major life change yourself, or you can sit back and wait for some life-altering event to occur in the weeks to come. If you opt for the latter, you won't have control over the events, and they will likely be much more challenging and stressful, whereas opting for the former might just be a lot of fun!

The areas of your life that this eclipse will impact most will vary depending on your Sun Sign:

Aries: You should push harder at work and focus on your greatest ambitions.

Taurus: Try to pick some aspect of your life and set your sights higher than you ever dreamed.

Cancer: You'll want to make new arrangements in close relationships and you'll need to work on adjusting to meet those.

Gemini: Immerse yourself in confidential and financial agreements.

Leo: Look into matters involving work or health, or both if you're feeling really ambitious.

Virgo: You'll just want love and fun right now.

Libra: Try to focus on home and family matters.

Scorpio: You must manage your daily schedule more efficiently.

Sagittarius: You'll want to try to get a firmer grip on your personal finances.

Capricorn: The Solar Eclipse is in your sign and you'll find you're at a significant turning point in your journey. You'll need to reflect carefully on your choices to determine what comes next.

Aquarius: You'll just need to take time out for more inner reflection.

Pisces: This is a time for you to make new friends and sort out longer-term plans.

Many recent transits have required a lot of work on your part, but they're about to be offset by the joint action of Jupiter and Uranus. After jaunting along together since May, these two planets will soon part ways, but not before bestowing one final gift - the gift of good times, adventure and lucky breaks. The best part of it all is that whatever happens will come as a complete surprise, so you won't have to do anything to make it happen.

The Sabian Symbol for this (new Moon) solar eclipse is Capricorn 14: An Ancient Bas-Relief Carved In Granite Remains A Witness To A Long-Forgotten Culture.

Some things never fade. They stand as reminders of ancient eras, bringing messages, being ‘Witnesses’, from the past. They remind us of how life and civilization was in ‘Long-Forgotten Cultures’. Messages may be found in these reminders about the stability and the longevity of the foundation of your society, or possibly that of some other culture, however distant in time and space. It could be something that resonates with you or draws you. Spiritual messages may be coming out of the past (or out of time and space), perhaps speaking through ‘Granite’, concrete or things “written in stone”. This can be very enriching and rewarding as these things can be beautiful remnants of the past, reminders of how life used to be

This eclipse isn't the only major event today: Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct and both planets trine Venus! This is incredibly auspicious: ancient astrology considers Jupiter and Venus to be the two luckiest planets, the trine represents easy, effortless connection, and Uranus can bring sudden awakenings. The universe is definitely opening the year with a powerful portent of wonderful breakthroughs!

This day's other important aspect suggests an excellent strategy for sensitizing yourself to the intuitive guidance you'll need to make the most of this year: a Venus-Neptune square, which can be used to empower your relationship with Spirit!

May we all have the courage to bring forth the best of ourselves: to heal, inspire, and create, while guided by our heart. Allow the internal hero to emerge and do not wait to be rescued by another.

Happy New Year, January's Planetary Forecast

Welcome to 2011, Year of Mastery. 2011 starts off with a solar eclipse in Capricorn, as well as a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, both happening on January 4th. The solar eclipse may seem a bit startling initially because there's a good chance some sort of parting of ways will occur. Keep in mind that the effects of solar eclipses can take some time to finalize, so what starts out as a separation will end, eventually, with a coming together. The final result will be a partnership much stronger and more enjoyable than anything you had before. Don't be surprised if you feel a bit restless the day before and of the eclipse - this is just another opportunity for you to focus on a particular project and see how much you can accomplish.

Jupiter and Uranus have been travelling together since May, and the conjunction on the 4th is the last time they'll come this close together for 13 years. Jupiter is the planet of luck and optimism, while Uranus represents inventiveness and creativity. As the two join forces for this last round, you can expect positive surprises, especially those beneficial surprises that bring a sense of relief to some aspect of your life.

Major breakthroughs are likely now, especially as adventurous Jupiter and experimental Uranus magically trine Venus in Scorpio. Blessings--even riches--are apt to rain down on us, once we commit to our goals. (I'm buying lottery tickets on the 4th; you may want to do the same!)

Since Mercury is on the move again, having just turned direct (on Dec. 30), the New Year's goals we set for 2011 will have powerful momentum behind them. Bear in mind, though, that Saturn, Capricorn's ruler, will turn retrograde on Jan. 25. That means we have until June 12, when Saturn goes direct, to implement and fine-tune the changes we're making now.

Rather than making a list of resolutions you'll likely never attain, the planetary energies at the dawn of 2011 support picking one or two goals and committing yourself to them or you may prefer to choose one word that sums up your intentions for the New Year, and let this word be your guiding light.

January blasts its way through the trials and tribulations of the past month to kick off the New Year with activity and optimism.

A few days later, things could get a touch more dramatic as Venus saunters from sultry Scorpio into adventurous Sagittarius on the 7th. For those seeking serious drama, this could be your chance to turn a friend into a lover. If you like to keep things more low key, but still want to take advantage of these energies, try throwing an exotically themed party. There's nothing like a beach party in the middle of winter to help ease cabin fever!

Meanwhile, Saturn, ever the spoilsport, may try to dampen the fun as it moves into a square with the sun on the same day. This influence will be short-lived, so just be sure to double-check every detail as often as possible, and you won't experience too many problems.

Then the universe is back in full swing and full of energy from January 11th through the 19th, as Mars, the Sun and Mercury frolic and dance with Jupiter and Uranus. You couldn't ask for a better time to have an adventure. On the 15th, Mars will move into Aquarius, followed by the Sun on the 20th. Be prepared to deal with some obstinacy and hard-headedness - this is not the best time for compromise. On the other hand, Aquarius, known for creativity and inventiveness, will force Mars to provide you with an excellent opportunity for incredible innovation.

It's a full month so far, but January's big astro-news is Jupiter's leap from Pisces to Aries on the 22nd, where it will remain until mid June. Jupiter's move will help bring about an attitude that is upfront, confident and filled with enthusiasm. Jupiter in Aries is the ultimate motivator. You might be inclined to be a bit headstrong, or to leap before you look, or to take things a bit too far. But remember to always take a deep breath and a moment to consider your actions. The impulsive optimism of these months mixed with a hint of responsibility will garner some pretty impressive results.
