The New Moon in Aquarius reflects the forces of new beginnings vs. the need to settle open issues that will not go away on their own. Overall, this is a very positive horoscope, bringing in the possibility of clear thinking WITH an open heart.
The Sun and moon conjunction are in a harmonious aspect to Uranus, Aquarius ruler. That can help in inaugurating any new idea relevant to the Aquarian influence. What is the Aquarian influence? Aquarius is the sign of groups, of friendships and of organizations. Each of us is a part of a larger group whether we admit to it or not, and in this new moon we can take a look at our surrounding friends and come to appreciate them, and the part they play in our lives.
This is a good time also to think about joining a group. Many people find it very hard to join anything, or volunteer to a good cause, but I have met many who do that on a regular basis, and they all say that volunteering feels more rewarding to them, and they hope that those they are attempting to help get something out of this too.
Aquarius is an air sign and can help in seeing the larger picture of any issue more accurately, and at the same time analyze issues, causes, and plan ahead with some detachment. Saturn in the last degree of Libra, and Neptune in the last degree of Aquarius, can help all of us gain deeper understanding by helping us review from an objective point of view. Many of us don’t know how to go beyond our regular thought patterns, and this new moon is a good time to attempt just that. How do you do that? You think of a subject, let all the regular thoughts come, and then go a step further to a new one and another new one. You can do it, it will be fun.
This new moon can bring a different perspective to any of the following
·      Friendships and their place in our lives
·      Being a part of a group
·      Analysis. Do I really know what that means?
Venus in pisces brings in a soothing energy of acceptance and unconditional love and helps us connect with different people. Only Jupiter puts some breaks with a square aspect to the Sun/Moon conjunction, making any dreams of expansion seem out of reach, or not in place.
For all who read: You can enjoy a time of reflection, a time to gain some new insights on your place in the larger scheme, a part of a group, a nation, a part of humanity.

Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon

Those folks born in 1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, and 2012 are born in the year of the dragon.
The Dragon is the most powerful of all Chinese signs, and also considered the most fortunate. This is not a fire-breathing fire dragon, but a more relentless and deeper water dragon year.
This is a powerful symbol of profound and deep transformation, which is ultimately for the good. With Uranus making a conjunction to Ceres in early Aries, new environmental innovations will emerge, as ongoing volatility will continue to be seen as Uranus and Pluto make their first of seven squares in 2012. (2012-2015)

The stage is set for a dramatic and intense year, a year where allegiances will likely change, where new developments will emerge after profound but necessary change that will help foster fresh fields of opportunity. Innovation, leadership, and creativity will all play a key role. Switching from an economic model of 'growth' to one of sustainability is necessary. As David Suzuki wisely put it, 'Endless growth is impossible in a finite world.'
There are many challenges ahead, the greatest test is confronting our own destructiveness and greed.
